Three bands, free alcohol, and a bunch of people crammed into a spaceship makes for a good party.

It was quite dim at the Tower so I just stationed myself in a few spots and waited for people to walk into the light.

Killer Dreamer headlined the party. I know nothing about drumming but I know this guy was good.

After the bands and most of the crowd left, about 10 of us stuck around. Some of us tried making music. Living the dream…

Dave and Orlando were in the moment.

Ortenzio shredding it 30 minutes before entering the bathroom and never coming out.

(Beware: This is my first Spanish post.)
Somos profesionales o no? Pienso que cuando un hombre vea uno otro llorando debe de tener algo muy significante en el lugar. Cuando la gente esta abramada por alegría es una vista maravillosa. Pienso que eso es amor.

Checkitout:
- Everything’s Amazing Nobody’s Happy
- The White Tiger - Winner of the latest Man Booker Prize. It’s a disgustingly unreserved novel focused on everything bad about India. Our servant hero, Balram, is Bangalore’s most successful and least well known entrepreneur who must “be straight and crooked, mocking and believing, sly and sincere, at the same time”.
- Banksy: Wall and Peace + Banksy - English graffiti artist
- “The people who run our cities don’t understand graffiti because they think nothing has the right to exist unless it makes a profit. But if you just value money then your opinion is worthless.”
- “The people who truly deface our neighbourhoods are the companies that scrawl their giant slogans across buildings and buses trying to make us feel inadequate unless we buy their stuff.”
- “Art is not like other culture because its success is not made by its audience…A small group create, promote, purchase, exhibit and decide the success of Art. Only a few hundred people in the world have any real say. When you go to an Art gallery you are simply a tourist looking at the trophy cabinet of a few millionaires.”

A teenage mariachi band. And good too.

Deciding on the winning playlist that would later transform the wedding reception into a club.

Reports and movies I’ve been into:
- Apologetic History of the Indies - primary history source about the “discovery”
- Gillo Pontecorvo’s Burn! - Begins with the Portuguese and English colonists fighting over land nowhere near their respective countries.
- The Electronic Wasteland - We generate a lot of crap that ends up poisoning poor people far, far away.
- Ship Breakers
- Slumdog Millionaire - Good visual of India, decent story but damn, #42 on IMDB’s Top 250? Higher than Forrest Gump?!
- Revolutionary Road - Only a man could write Frank Wheeler’s lines as he fiercely counters his wife’s unreasonable dissatisfaction. The emotional abuse that men sometimes endure should be reported as domestic violence!

A weeknight out with Dave. We rolled to the Slidebar to catch a little show put on by Old Shoe Records. Here’s the wrap.

Things:
- Netflix. Watching movies instantly through my iMac has interfered with my post processing time.
- Why do we do what we do?
- Ben Chrisman has some great pics of Thailand up on his blog. It made me miss the motherland. So I checked plane tickets for July and now I don’t miss it so much.
