Fútbol
From various sources, there are anywhere from 200 to 600 adult fútbol teams in the city of Veracruz (pop. 500,000). The culture is muy loca for the sport. I had the opportunity to attend a couple of games with my Tio Armando who plays every Saturday in a 30 and over league.
Due to the storms, the first game was a wet one especially in the goal area. Below is a picture of my uncle in his number 10, a number that is usually given to the team’s best player. Thus far this season, after 16 games, he has an average of scoring a goal per game.

Warming up before the game.

This kick ended up as a goal.

There wasn’t much action a few weeks later in the second game I attended. This penalty kick was about as good as it got. Unfortunately it was blocked.

Then I turned my attention to Renato. We were both pretty bored with the game so we decided to turn it into a mini photo session. I must have snapped over 20 shots of him jumping and flipping around.

When you hand over your camera to a 10 year old, this is often the result. Not bad at all.
